The Best Ceramic Coating in Clovis Starts With the Prep
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your paint and cures into a hard, glass-like layer. Wax sits on top of the paint and is gone in a month or two. A coating becomes part of the surface: 9H hardness, strongly hydrophobic, and measured in years. Clovis weather is hard on a finish. Triple-digit stretches through summer, relentless UV, and dust carried in off the surrounding farmland. Bird droppings and sap turn acidic enough to etch clear coat within a day when it is hot. A coating absorbs all of that instead of your paint. What separates a coating that lasts from one that fails is the preparation. Our shop is right here in Clovis, and every vehicle gets the same sequence before a drop of coating goes on: full wash and dry, clay bar, iron and fallout decontamination, then panel prep so the surface is chemically clean and the coating can bond. If the paint is holding swirls or scratches, it gets corrected first, because a coating locks in whatever sits underneath it. Packages start at $699, and we will tell you straight whether yours needs correcting.

Ceramic Coating Gloss That Holds Through A Clovis Summer
A coating levels the microscopic texture in your clear coat so light reflects evenly rather than scattering. You get the deep, wet-looking finish people associate with a show car, and it stays that way instead of going flat after a few washes.
Hardness That Stands Up To Clovis Sun, Sap And Dust
The coating cures to 9H in a layer several microns thick, a semi-permanent shield against UV, rain, ag dust and the acidic sap and bird droppings that etch clear coat in summer heat. It is a chemical and UV barrier rather than an impact one, so it will not stop a rock chip.
Clovis Ceramic Coating Prices, And The Wash Routine
Hand wash only, with a pH-neutral soap, and dry with a blower rather than a towel. Water pulls into tight beads and sheets off, so a coated car takes minutes rather than an afternoon. Essential starts at $699 for three years or $899 for five, Premium from $1,399 and Ultimate at $2,199.
Paint Protection Film VS Ceramic Coating
PPF and Ceramic Coating both enhance protection, yet serve distinct purposes. PPF is a thick film safeguarding against physical damage like stone chips and scratches, while Ceramic Coating, a liquid polymer, provides a glossy, hydrophobic layer resisting minor scratches, UV damage, and simplifying cleaning. Each offers unique protective benefits for your vehicle.
Certified Installer
We install a professional-grade coating line chosen for the conditions Clovis drivers actually face. Our Quartz and Quartz Lite coatings are clear, nano-crystalline ceramics that cure to 9H hardness and several microns thick, standing up to weather, chemicals, abrasion and UV while repelling water and dirt through a self-cleaning effect. For customers who want the slickest possible finish we also install Onyx, a graphene-oxide coating that holds a contact angle above 110 degrees for more washes than a standard ceramic. Whichever you choose, the work is backed by our own warranty: three years as standard, five as an option.

We Are Here To Help
For a car that lives outside in this valley, usually yes. For a garaged weekend car that already gets hand washed carefully, the case is weaker and we will say so rather than sell you one.
The value shows up in two places. Day to day, dust and bug splatter rinse off instead of needing to be scrubbed, which means you touch the paint less and put fewer swirls into it. Long term, the coating takes the UV load instead of your clear coat, and a car that has not been bleaching in the sun for five years is worth noticeably more when you sell it.
Where it is not worth it is on paint that is already swirled or oxidized and is not going to be corrected first. A coating locks in whatever is underneath, so putting one on bad paint just makes the bad paint permanent.
Every package carries a 3-year warranty as standard, with a 5-year option available. Most well kept coatings comfortably outlive the warranty on them, so treat those numbers as a floor.
It does not wear evenly. The roof, hood and trunk take the most direct sun and stop beading first, while doors and lower panels are still going strong. That is normal, and it is the reason we ask you back once a year rather than assuming the whole car ages at the same rate.
What shortens it is automatic car washes and letting bird droppings and sap sit in the heat. Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap, get contaminants off quickly, and dry the car after rinsing instead of leaving it to air-dry in the sun.
Our ceramic coating packages start at $699 for the Essential package with a 3-year warranty, or $899 for the 5-year version. Premium starts at $1,399 and Ultimate, our most complete package, starts at $2,199.
If the paint needs correcting first, and most cars more than a year or two old do, a one-step correction starts at $600 and a multi-step at $1,200. A coating locks in whatever sits underneath it, so this is not an upsell, it is the difference between a coating that looks right and one that seals in swirls.
Final pricing depends on the size of the vehicle and the condition of the paint, so the honest answer is that we quote on the actual car. Our shop is in Clovis, so bring it by and we'll tell you what it needs rather than what sells. All four packages are on our ceramic coating in Clovis page.
Four rules cover it.
Hand wash only, pH-neutral soap. Drive-through washes drag grit across the paint and will take life off a coating faster than anything else you can do to it.
Dry with air, not a towel. A blower means you are barely touching the paint, and touching the paint is where swirl marks come from. If you do towel dry, use a clean plush microfiber and no pressure. Either way, dry it rather than letting it sit wet in the sun.
Do not wax it. Wax sits on top and does nothing the coating is not already doing better.
Come in once a year. The annual maintenance is $120 and covers a full wash, a reapplication, and attention to any panel where the water has stopped beading properly. That is what keeps protection even across the car rather than thinning out on the panels that take the most sun.
It can, and when people say coatings are bad for paint this is usually what they are describing. The failures come from the application, not from the product.
A coating that is spread too thick, or left too long before it is leveled off, cures into high spots and streaks that catch the light. Applied in direct sun or in the wrong humidity it can flash off before it is evened out. Once it has hardened, fixing any of that means machine polishing it back off and starting again.
We coat indoors under controlled lighting and work panel by panel so nothing sits longer than it should. That is not a sales point, it is just the only way the result is repeatable.
No. The brushes are the problem, and a coating does not make a car immune to them.
Those brushes have already been through hundreds of dirty vehicles that day, so they arrive at your paint carrying other people's grit. Dragged across a panel under pressure, that grit puts in exactly the fine scratches a coating is supposed to help you avoid. Many washes also recycle their water, which does not help.
Touchless washes are less damaging, but the strong alkaline chemicals they rely on are hard on a coating over time. A bucket, a pH-neutral soap and a blower will always treat the car better, and a coated car takes very little effort to wash that way.
It is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your clear coat and cures into a hard, glass-like layer a few microns thick. It is not a wax and it is not a film.
The difference from wax matters. Wax sits on top of the paint and is gone in a month or two. A coating becomes part of the surface and is measured in years.
Three things it does for a car in Clovis. It takes the UV instead of your clear coat, in a place that runs past 100°F for weeks at a stretch. It resists the bird droppings, sap and ag chemicals that etch unprotected paint, provided you get them off reasonably quickly. And it makes the surface slick enough that dirt struggles to hold on, so washing stops being a weekend job.
What it does not do is stop a rock. Nothing a few microns thick will.
Yes, and the reason is money rather than urgency. New paint usually needs little or no correction first, so you are paying for the coating instead of paying to fix three years of swirls before it goes on.
Brand new does not mean flawless, though. Transport, dealer prep and a quick wash on the lot regularly leave marks behind, and we find them often. You will not see them on a dusty car under a showroom ceiling. They show on a clean car in daylight or under our shop lighting.
So bring it by before you commit to a package. We will look at it properly and tell you whether it needs anything first. Our shop is in Clovis, and it takes ten minutes to check.
If you can only do one, do the film, and put it on the front end. It is the only one of the two that physically stops a rock chip, and the front end is where the chips happen.
The two products are not really competing. Film is thick urethane, around 8 mil, that absorbs an impact before it reaches your paint. A coating is a few microns of hardened polymer, roughly a hundred times thinner, that works chemically rather than physically. It will not stop a stone and it was never meant to.
What a coating does is everything else: UV resistance, gloss, and a surface dirt struggles to cling to, across the whole car rather than just the panels that are filmed.
The usual order is film first, coating over the top of everything including the film. That way the car cleans evenly instead of beading on some panels and not others.
The bottle is rarely the difference. The preparation is, and that is where a lot-prep coating and a proper one part company.
A coating sold as a dealership add-on usually goes on quickly, as part of getting the car ready for handover. There is rarely time for a clay bar, an iron decontamination or any correction, and the car often goes straight back out into the sun to cure. Applied that way it bonds poorly to a surface that was never properly clean, and it seals in whatever marks were already there.
Our process keeps the car for a day or more: full wash and dry, clay bar, iron and fallout decontamination, then correction where the paint needs it, and only then the coating, applied indoors panel by panel.
If you have already paid for one, bring the car by and we will tell you honestly what is on it and whether it is doing anything.
