What is the darkest legal tint for a Tesla in California?

The law is the same for a Tesla as for anything else and it depends on the window. Front side windows must let at least 70% of light through, so film on factory glass needs to be around 88% VLT or higher. Rear side windows and the rear glass have no darkness limit as long as the car has dual side mirrors. The windshield can only be tinted in the top four inches above the AS-1 line and must be non-reflective. Red, amber and blue films are prohibited statewide.
