Is it worth it to tint house windows?
Absolutely! In fact, older windows can benefit from window tinting more than newer windows because they usually don’t have the low-emissivity (Low-E) coating that’s found on newer windows. If you do decide to tint your older windows, you’re sure to see an increased energy efficiency during both hot and cold months.
What is the darkest legal tint in California?
In Fresno California, the darkest legal tint depends on which windows you're tinting. Fresno drivers can go as dark as 5% (limo tint) on rear side windows and the rear windshield, as long as the vehicle has dual side mirrors. Front side windows must allow a minimum of 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT), meaning aftermarket film applied to factory glass needs to be around 88% VLT or higher to stay street-legal. The front windshield can only be tinted in the top 4 inches above the AS-1 line, and it must be non-reflective. Red, amber, and blue tint colors are prohibited on any window statewide. Any reputable Fresno window tinting shop will install film that keeps your vehicle fully compliant.
Can you take a car with a ceramic coat through a car wash?
No, it’s best to avoid automated car washes if you have a ceramic-coated vehicle. Automated car washes use recycled water and low-quality brushes that can rub dirt and grit along the ceramic coating, damaging it. It’s best to stick to handwashing only for ceramic-coated vehicles.
Why do some people say ceramic coating is bad for my car?
When your ceramic coating is done by a professional, there’s no danger at all for your car. When done by an amateur, though, a bad ceramic coating can cause streaks, high spots, hazing, and horrible reflections on your vehicle’s surface.
