Do you use pre-cut kits or custom bulk-cut paint protection film?
We primarily bulk install our paint protection film so there are little to no visible edges, giving your vehicle a seamless, factory-finish look. Compared to pre-cut kits which often have more visible edges, extra seams, and less overall coverage—our install method ensures maximum protection and a cleaner, more uniform appearance.
FAQ
We Are Here To Help
What services do you offer?
We specialize in window tinting, paint protection film (PPF), ceramic coating, paint correction, and vehicle wraps. Whether you’re looking for heat rejection, gloss enhancement, or full protection, we’ve got you covered.
Can I drop off my car early or leave it overnight?
Absolutely. Many customers drop off their cars before work or leave them overnight. Just let us know what works best for your schedule and we’ll accommodate.
Where are you located?
We’re located in Clovis, CA, and proudly serve Fresno and the surrounding Central Valley. Our shop is easy to find, and we’re just minutes away from most parts of Fresno.
How do I get a quote?
You can call, text, or request a quote online in under a minute. We’ll just need your vehicle year, make, model, and what service you’re interested in to get you an accurate estimate.
Do I need an appointment or do you take walk-ins?
We recommend booking an appointment to avoid wait times, but walk-ins are welcome when we have availability. Feel free to call or text us to check for same-day openings.
Should I do anything to my car beforehand?
Yes — we recommend giving your car a basic exterior wash before your appointment. This helps us avoid rubbing dry dirt or dust into the paint when working on your vehicle, which can cause scratching. It also makes it easier for us to get great photos of your car when it’s all done!
Do you have financing options?
Yes! We offer buy now, pay later options through providers like Affirm, Afterpay, and others — so you can split your purchase into easy payments. Just ask us for more details when booking.
Do you work on all types of vehicles?
We work on nearly all types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, Teslas, luxury, and exotic cars. It’s rare that we come across something we can’t work on — but if you have a unique vehicle, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to confirm.
Do you offer mobile window tinting near me?
Currently we don't offer mobile window tinting, all installs are done at our Fresno shop where we have the controlled environment needed to guarantee a clean, bubble-free result. Dust and wind are the enemy of a good tint job, and unlike a mobile installer, we have a shop you can always come back to if you ever need anything fixed.
With a mobile tinter, once they're gone they're gone, there's no storefront to return to if something goes wrong with your install. At Cen Cal Tinting our Fresno shop is always here to back up our work. Combined with same-day appointments and most cars in and out in 1–4 hours, coming to us is easier than you might think. Book online or give us a call to check availability.
What does 70% tint look like?
70% tint is very light, most people can barely tell it's there compared to untinted factory glass. It doesn't visibly darken the window, but it still blocks UV rays, reduces glare, and gives the glass a clean, uniform appearance. Since California requires 70% VLT minimum on front side windows, this is the standard legal option for front glass in Fresno.
Many Fresno drivers pair lightly tinted front windows with darker rear windows - 35%, 20%, or 5% - for a sleek gradient look that's fully legal while maximizing heat rejection and privacy in the back. We'll show you samples in person so you can see exactly what each shade looks like before you commit.
Can police check tint levels in California?
Yes, California law enforcement officers, including Fresno PD and CHP, are authorized to check tint levels during any traffic stop using a handheld tint meter. The device measures the percentage of light passing through your window in seconds. If your front side windows read below 70% VLT, you can be cited on the spot.
Officers can also use visual judgment to initiate a stop if your tint appears obviously too dark. The best way to stay worry-free on Fresno roads is to have your tint installed by a certified local shop that can use compliant film which is exactly what we do here at Cen Cal Tinting.
Is it cheaper to do tint yourself?
DIY tint kits cost around $100 upfront, but most people underestimate how difficult the install actually is. Mistakes mean redoing windows and wasting material, and DIY kits don't give you access to professional-grade film like Autobahn. In Fresno's heat, a poor install won't last, making professional installation the better value from the start.
We've had plenty of customers come to us after attempting it themselves and almost every one of them said they wished they'd just come to us first. Beyond the frustration of bubbles, peeling edges, and misaligned cuts, DIY film simply can't match the durability and heat performance of professional-grade Autobahn film. Our standard full car package starts at $249 and our ceramic at $389, both backed by a lifetime warranty. When you factor in the cost of wasted material, redone windows, and inferior film, professional installation at Cen Cal Tinting is the smarter and often cheaper choice in the long run.
How long does window tinting last?
All of our window tint films at Cen Cal Tinting come with a lifetime warranty, including our standard film. Every film we use is from Autobahn, specifically engineered to hold up in hot climates like Fresno's Central Valley. You won't have to worry about fading, bubbling, or peeling regardless of which package you choose. Cheaper films from other shops may show wear in 3–5 years under Fresno's intense sun and months of 100°F+ heat. Autobahn films are a different story. Whether you go with our standard package at $249 or ceramic at $389, every install is backed by a lifetime warranty and built to handle the Central Valley climate for the long haul. It's one of the reasons we're Fresno's most trusted tint shop.
Is it difficult to get a tint ticket in CA?
It's always possible, and the darker you go, the more of a risk you take. California law enforcement carry tint meters and can check your windows during any traffic stop. A first offense is usually a fix-it ticket starting at $25, but with court fees it can reach $197+. The safest move is staying legal on front windows from the start.
In Fresno, CHP and local police are active on the roads year-round. While a tint ticket isn't an everyday occurrence, front windows that are visibly too dark are one of the easier violations for an officer to spot. Rear windows have no legal darkness limit in California, so you can go as dark as you like there without any risk. We'll always make sure your front windows are installed to the legal standard — and help you choose the darkest legal option that keeps you comfortable and worry-free on Fresno roads.
