What is the darkest legal tint in California?

In Clovis, as everywhere in California, the darkest legal tint depends on which windows you're doing. You can go as dark as 5% (limo tint) on the rear side windows and rear windshield, provided the vehicle has dual side mirrors. Front side windows must allow at least 70% Visible Light Transmission, which means aftermarket film on factory glass needs to be around 88% VLT or higher to stay street-legal. The windshield can only be tinted in the top 4 inches above the AS-1 line, and it must be non-reflective. Red, amber and blue tints are prohibited on any window statewide. We'll always install film that keeps your vehicle compliant.
